The gang are at the Department of Archeology seeing the Mummy of Anka. Dr Najib is responsible for bringing the mummy to the department for a replica of Anka's tomb. Dr. Najib tells them about a curse, Anka will turn anyone who removes him from his tomb into stone. 

While the gang is out at the Malt Shop getting hamburgers and liverwurst a la mode sandwiches, the Professor hears a commotion. When they return they find the professor petrified at his desk. Velma notices the glass on the broken door is broken in, not broken out which doesn't make sense if the mummy came to life and broke through the door to get out of the room.

During their search, Shaggy, Velma and Scooby find the mummy, he attacks them. When he corners them, he demands the coin. Velma quickly figures out he wants an Ancient Egyptian coin Shaggy accidentally pocketed.

Fred and Daphne find Dr. Najib petrified in his car. Velma, Scooby and Shaggy find a piece of the Mummy's wrappings. They take it to the school laboratory to test its age (Wow, that lab is well appointed). Scooby drinks a bunch of glasses of chemicals. This temporarily transforms his head into a frog's and magic exists in Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! because that doesn't science). Shaggy and Velma trap the Mummy in the lab but accidentally trap Scooby with him. They get the door open and Scooby is missing.

They find a statue of Scooby outside. While Shaggy is sobbing over the petrified form of his best friend, Scooby digs his way out of a shed.

They research the coin in the Professor's office. Velma solves the purpose of the coin in seconds. She realizes the coin is a key in a puzzle. While fleeing from the mummy, the gang falls through the floor into the pool. Unfortunately, the mummy isn't far behind. Shaggy and Scooby flee. They find the equipment the mummy was using to make statues of everyone. They also find the Professor tied up in a bag. They leave the professor tied up in a bag and escape.

Scooby manages to trap the mummy in the basketball hoop. They unmask the mummy to find it's Dr. Najib (the only other person in the episode aside from the professor, the gang and the guy at the malt shop).

They use the coin to open the statue and reveal a diamond scarab.
