Too Much Detail Recap

Okay, so here's my brain. Frozen Caveman...Link
from Encino Man...Link refrozen...and here we are

The gang is partying on the beach as they often do. Shaggy and Scooby are fishing. Shaggy's line wraps around a block of ice containing a caveman that was washed off a boat. They bring the giant block of ice to Oceanland. One of the scientists makes an offhand comment about bringing the caveman back to life.

The gang goes to the Malt Shop for a meal. They head back to Oceanland to pickup the rod and reel Shaggy left behind when they dropped off the iceman. They can't find the scientists. They find the door torn open. They also find torn clothing and the caveman missing from the block of ice. Shaggy tries to call the sheriff but the line is cut.

They find footprints and follow them to Professor Ingstrom working with equipment and apparently communicating with a dolphin. They send Scooby to get a closer listen. Scooby is as covert as a truck. The Professor grabs his equipment and runs. They say he was acting suspiciously. I disagree with the assessment. He was conducting an experiment then he ran when he saw a tarp and buckets running at him. He was the least suspicious person in that moment.

They follow the professor into the shack. When they open the door, they come face to face with the caveman. The caveman chases them. Velma calls them out as chickens for running from the caveman but she ran too and he's trying to beat them like he's Bam Bam.

They find a map at Oceanland. Fred sends Shaggy, Scooby and Velma out n a row boat to investigate the ocean chart. They find a boat at the X on the map. They get on the boat to investigate. They get locked into a room on the boat with an ice maker. The ice maker is turned on. The room starts to fill up with giant blocks of ice. Scooby tries to ram the door with a block. The block hits the door and the ice is forced through the keyhole in the shape of a key. It doesn't make sense but it makes me smile because it is such an unnecessarily contrived moment.

When they get out of the room, they see their row boat was sunk. Velma comes up with a plan to use a block of ice to ride while rowing ashore.

They get to trap making time. Scooby and Shaggy dress up as a swordfish and a shark to bait the caveman into walking under a net. It doesn't make sense because the caveman has chased Shaggy and Scooby and it really doesn't make sense for them to have costumes that make it harder to run. But the costumes are cute. Daphne ruins the trap by knocking all of Fred and Daphne off the balcony and on top of Shaggy and Scooby.

Time for the pop music chase around Oceanland. I really enjoy that the chase scenes incorporate more settings and interesting gags. The Caveman is trapped in a giant clam. When they free him, they find out it's the other scientist and there never was a caveman. He was after Professor Ingstrom's marine life communicator (the experiment he was doing on the dock).

This is the first meddling kids! A landmark moment.
